Ksenia believes that illustration is a powerful research tool and a knowledge-making practice that does not necessarily have to be linked to a specific medium. She develops this approach in her independent research and teaching practice.

Ksenia had been teaching on MA Comics at HSE Art and Design School, BA Illustration at British Higher School of Art and Design, at TUMO Center for Creative Technologies, Prostaya Shkola, and other art schools. Currently, she is a BA Illustration lecturer at the Arts University Bournemouth.

She is a founder of an online magazine about cross-disciplinary collaborations .RAW co-founder of an independent magazine about illustration Slonvboa, which aims at locating illustration within a broader cultural context. She also writes about contemporary Japanese illustration in her blog IINE!
